Iran’s pistachio exports down

Iran's pistachio exports decreased by 19 percent in terms of both value and volume, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

According to Latifi, Iran exported more than 111,000 tons of pistachios worth $738 million in 9 months.

The customs official added that Iran exported pistachios to 70 countries during the reporting period.

“So, Iran mainly exported 32,700 tons of pistachios worth $189 million to China, 14,000 tons worth about $106 million to India, 8,000 tons worth $39.4 million to Iraq, as well as, 6,710 tons worth $39.2 million to Russia and 6,150 tons worth $37.4 million to Kyrgyzstan," he said.

Iran's total exports for the first 9 months of the current Iranian year amounted to 92.3 million tons worth $35.1 billion. The exports increased by 40 percent in value and 8 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
