BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19. In total, 45 new facilities were launched at Iran’s Aras Free Trade-Industrial Zone in the East Azerbaijan Province (north-western Iran) on May 19, 2022, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi attended the event dedicated to the commissioning of facilities via a videoconference.
A total of 10.4 trillion rials (about $249 million) and $8.5 million has been spent on these facilities. Some 1,192 people were provided with jobs with the commissioning of the facilities.
One of the 3 most important facilities put into operation in the Aras Free Trade-Industrial Zone is the fabric production facility of Aysoo Textile Company. The facility cost 2.8 trillion rials (about $66.6 million) and $8.5 million and employed 92 people.
The other important facility is Setareh Baran Company's facility for packaging various vegetable oils (olive, sunflower and corn oils). The facility cost 1.58 trillion rials (about $37.7 million) and employed 10 people.
In addition, Aras Tarla Amir Company's greenhouse equipped with artificial lighting has been put into operation. The greenhouse cost 3.51 trillion rials (about $ 83.7 million) and employed 31 people.
As many as 82 new facilities were put into operation in 5 Free Trade-Industrial Zones and 7 Special Economic Zones of Iran on May 19. In total, more than 61 trillion rials (about $1.45 billion) have been spent on the mentioned facilities.
