Iran promises to improve ties with Qatari businessmen

TEHRAN, Iran, June 7. The Iranian government is looking to improve communications between Iranian and Qatari businessmen, said Iranian ambassador in Qatar Hamidreza Dehghani Poudeh, Trend reports citing IRNA.

In a meeting with Iranian businessmen in Doha, Poudeh said the government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will help to boost business ties.

Meanwhile, the 8th meeting of the Iran-Qatar Joint Economic Commission is to be held on June 7 in Doha to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade and economy.

Earlier, Iranian Energy Minister and Co-Chair of the Iran-Qatar Joint Economic Cooperation Commission Ali Akbar Mehrabian said that private sector of both countries has an effective role in increasing trade turnover and can be effective in economic relations between the two countries.

According to him, Iran's new government has made it a priority to improve relations with neighboring countries, including Qatar. In this regard, support for the private sector can contribute to the development of economic relations.

"The Qatari market is a very important market for Iranian businessmen. At present, the most important issue for businessmen in the economy is the existence of a profitable, reliable market," Mehrabian had said.
