TEHRAN, Iran, August 31. Iran exported over 18,000 tons of goods worth $9.6 million to Russia within 50 days, in line with the implementation of the pilot project of the simplified customs corridor project, the head of Iran's Customs Organization Alireza Moghaddasi said, Trend reports citing Mehr news agency.
According to the Russian customs statistics, since the beginning of the implementation of the simplified customs corridor project, 18,462 tons of goods worth have been exported to Russia between June 30 and August 21.
“In the mentioned period, about 46 percent of the weight and 18.1 percent of the total value of Iran's exported fruits and vegetables have been transported to Russia,” said Moghaddasi.
Russia and Iran signed an agreement on a simplified customs corridor in order to boost Russian-Iranian cooperation in the customs sector.
