BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 29. Overall, Iran imported 19.7 million tons of goods worth$ 31.7 billion during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2022), the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Morteza Emadi said, Trend reports citing the administration.
The official noted that Iran's imports for 7 months increased by 14.4 percent in value, while decreased by 15.7 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
“The imported goods were mainly corn feed, rice, wheat, soybeans, mobile phones, sunflower oil, tractors, home phone and unprocessed sugar and etc.,” he added.
Emadi said that Iran mainly imported goods worth $9.44 billion from the UAE, worth $8.28 billion from China, worth $3.22 billion from Türkiye, worth $1.69 billion from India and worth $991 million from Germany in 7 months.
According to him, the mentioned five countries accounted for 74.4 percent of Iran’s total imports for the reporting period.
"Within 7 months, Iran's non-oil trade turnover amounted to 81 million tons worth more than $60.1 billion, which is an increase of 10 percent in value, while a decrease of 17.6 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year," Emadi noted.
