Iran reveals volume of cargo transported via border terminals of Sistan & Baluchestan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 5. More than 1.3 million tons of cargo were transported from the northern border terminals (Milak and Mirjaveh) of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran), during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2022), Director General for Road Maintenance and Transportation Department of the province Ayyoub Kord said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

The director general noted that the mentioned volume of cargo was transported by 55,802 trucks.

Kord also added that 695,362 tons of transported goods for 7 months were exported. So, 495,071 tons of cargo were exported from the Mirjaveh border terminal, and 200,291 tons from the Milak border terminal.

Kord added that the exported goods were mainly liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), bitumen, hydrocarbons, gasoline, cement and dairy products.

“In 7 months, 389,908 tons of cargo were transited through the mentioned two border terminals, which is an increase of 12 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.
