Volume of cargo loaded/unloaded at Iran’s Astara port down

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 8. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Astara port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) decreased by 17 percent for the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

Overall, more than 16,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the 9th month. Of this, 7,960 tons were loaded and 8,100 tons were unloaded.

Some 7,960 tons of cargo were exported and 8,100 tons were imported through the Astara port during the reporting month.

About 144 tons of metal products and 6,390 tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the 9th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 2,750 tons of chemicals, 6,720 tons of leather goods, clothing, wood materials, paper, and so on, 51 tons of small and assorted goods were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

In general, approximately 12 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 9th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.6 million tons were loaded and 5.4 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 8.1 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
