BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 5. In total, about 3.54 million tons of goods worth 294 trillion rials (about $7.01 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME), during the last Iranian week (February 25 through March 2, 2023), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is an increase of 14.8 percent in value and 79.4 percent in volume compared to the preceding Iranian week (February 18 through February 23, 2023).

According to the report, 2.82 million tons of goods, and various passenger cars worth 186 trillion rials (about $4.43 billion) were sold in IME's industrial and mining products section last week.

The main products sold in this section included cement, iron ore, steel, sponge iron, aluminum, copper, zinc, molybdenum concentrate, and etc.

In addition, 506,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 102 trillion rials (about $2.43 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week.

The main products sold in this section were bitumen, vacuum bottom, polymer substances, chemicals, lube cut, base oil, petroleum products, sulfur, and etc.

At the same time, 206,000 tons of various products worth 6.24 trillion rials (about $149 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
