BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 1. Iran’s domestic van production increased by more than 12 times, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports.
Overall, 713 vans were produced within the country for 2 months, while in the same period last Iranian year, Iran’s van manufacturing amounted to 59 vans.
Alone the second month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2023), Iran produced 472 vans domestically. This is an increase of nearly 20 times compared to 24 vans in same month of the last Iranian year.
Meanwhile, Iran manufactured a total of 3,164 vans domestically, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 267 percent compared to 862 vans in the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
In total, 193,437 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-ups, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks and trailers and etc.) were produced in Iran within 2 months.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
