BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. The iron ore pellet production of nine major Iranian companies increased by 2 percent, during the second month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Trend reports.
Overall, the mentioned 9 companies produced about 3.95 million tons of iron ore pellets in the 2nd month, while the figure stood at 3.86 million tons in the same month of the last Iranian year.
Within 2nd month, the Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company produced approximately 973,000 tons of iron ore pellets, Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company produced – 520,000 tons, Middle East Mines and Minerals Industries Development Holding Company (MIDHCO) – 515,000 tons, Central Iron Ore Company of Iran – 505,000 tons, Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company – 382,000 tons.
Also, Sangan Mining Industries Company produced about 454,000 tons of iron ore pellets, Opal Parsian Sangan Industrial and Mining Company – 390,000 tons, Sanabad Inclusive Development Industrial and Mining Company – about 183,000 tons, and Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development Company – 32,600 tons within the second month.
Furthermore, the mentioned 9 companies sent approximately 1.88 million tons of iron ore pellets to relevant local companies in the 2nd month, which is an increase of 23 percent compared to about 1.53 million tons in the same month in the last year.
On average, about 50 million tons of iron ore pellets are produced annually in Iran.
