BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 3. The value of non-oil exports from Iran’s South Khorasan Province rose by 65 percent, while the volume increased by 46 percent, in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Director General of Iran's South Khorasan Province Customs Office Mohammad Kuhgerd said, Trend reports.
In 6 months, the province exported more than $79 million worth of non-oil goods, weighing 574,000 tons, according to Kuhgerd.
He added that the main export items were cement, light hydrocarbons, diesel, and agricultural products, which were mainly destined for Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Afghanistan and Kazakhstan.
The director general also said that the province’s customs facilitated the export of $274 million worth of goods, weighing 1 million tons that were produced in other Iranian provinces, in the same period. This marked an 8-percent increase in value and a 36-percent increase in volume, compared to the same period last year. The products included cement, ceramics, soap and others.
Overall, Iran exported 67.7 million tons of non-oil products worth over $24.1 billion in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023). This is an increase of 2.62 percent in value and a decrease of 29 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
