Iran records drop in imports into Kermanshah Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 29. The imports to Iran’s Kermanshah Province in the west of the country dropped by seven percent in value and six percent in volume during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, an official of the Kermanshah Province Customs Office, Ali Asghar Abbaszadeh said, Trend reports.

The customs official stated that the province imported goods worth circa $71.8 million and weighing 10,500 tons.

Abbaszadeh added that the imported goods mainly consist of equipment, spare parts, raw materials, and catalysts.

To note that, there are two border checkpoints and five border markets in Kermanshah Province, Iran.

Overall, Iran imported 24.7 million tons of goods worth $42.1 billion in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023). This is an increase of 12 percent in value and four percent in volume compared to the same period last year.

Iran’s main import partners in this period were the UAE, China, and Türkiye. The main imported items were corn feed, mobile phones, and soybean seeds.
