Iran-Turkmenistan non-oil trade rises in value and volume

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 11. The non-oil trade turnover between Iran and Turkmenistan grew by 3.3 percent in value and 4.5 percent in volume during the first ten months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

In 10 months, Iran traded about 1.15 million tons of non-oil goods, valued at approximately 403 million with Turkmenistan, as was reflected in data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Meanwhile, in the same period of the previous Iranian year, the trade turnover between the two countries stood at 1.1 million tons worth approximately $390 million.

The main trade items were agricultural and food products, industrial products, transformers, water conditioners, petrochemical products, petroleum coke, cotton, cloth, etc.

In the 10th month alone (December 22, 2023 through January 20, 2024), the two countries traded 110,000 tons of non-oil goods worth around $37 million.

Overall, Iran's non-oil trade with the rest of the world was $94.8 billion in the first 10 months of this year, equivalent to approximately 146 million tons of commodities.
