Yevlakh Agro-Park in Azerbaijan welcomes its new resident

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 6. A resident status has been awarded to individual entrepreneur Asif Mammadov at the Yevlakh pilot agricultural park, Trend reports.

According to the Agency for Development of Economic Zones under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, the new resident plans to go all out and create orchards on a whopping 21.4 ha with an investment volume of 200,000 manat ($117,650), which will give three people a steady job and eight people a chance to work during the season.

Overall, the five residents of the agro-park received soft loans worth 7.1 million manat ($4.1 million) from the Entrepreneurship Development Fund under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan.

To note, currently, Azerbaijan is cooking up 51 agro-parks in 32 districts. 34 agro-parks are experts in growing crops, 14 in juggling both crops and livestock, one in taking care of animals, and two in the processing industry. Out of the bunch, 44 have already hit the ground running, while the rest are still in the works or being built from scratch.
