Yuksel Domonik to present feasibility study of Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku project

The Turkish Yuksel Domonik Company will submit the feasibility study of the Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku railway project to the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry in late December, the Ministry told Trend.

After the completion of the feasibility study the Georgian Economic Development Minister, the Azerbaijani and the Turkish Transport Ministers will meet in Turkey in early 2006 to make a final decision within the construction project.

The length of the railway comprises 98 km with 68 km falling to Turkey, 30 km -Georgia. In accordance with the preliminary estimations, the implementation of the Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku project requires from $360m to 400m, including, construction of the Kars-Akhalkalaki section - $250m, Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi - $150m.
