Russian Trade Delegates Office to open in Baku

The Russian government plans to open trade representative office in Azerbaijan and for discussing the issue arrival of its representatives is expected in Baku in late January, the Cabinet of Ministers told Trend. These plans are implemented in line with the protocol to the inter-governmental agreement "On principles of trade cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia , signed in 1993.

The tasks of the trade representation include carrying out the foreign economic policy of the Russian Federation (RF) in the host-country. In relation to the latest statements Russia closes trade delegations in 52 countries worldwide and opens new ones in 8 CIS states. From the Baltic states the RF trade representation will remain only in Lithuania. They will be closed in Latvia and Estonia. New trade offices will be opened in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kirgiziya, Moldova, Tadjikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The RF trade representations will be kept in 42 countries.
