During January-April 2006, Azerbaijans GDP grew by 39.5% yearover-year. Officials of State Statistics Committee told Trend that as of May 1, 2006 GDP amounted 4,477.9bn manat. GDP per capita rose by 38.5% and amounted 537.4 manat ($589.2).
Share of industry in GDP rose by 58.7% over year and amounted 67.6 % (3,030.2bn manat). Additional cost in service sphere rose by 9.1% over year, but its share in GDP fell to 24.9% from 30.9%.
Net taxes from production and import totaled 7.4% of GDP. During this period, industrial GDP amounted 2,553.1bn manat, 57% from total GDP; agriculture, hunting and forestry 76.3mln manat (1.7%), construction 400.7mln manat (8.9%), transport 276.3mln manat (6.2%), communications 88mln manat (2%), wholesale and retail trade, car industry, household appliances and repairs 318.6mln manat (7.1%), restaurants and hotels 32.3mln manat (0.7%), social and other service 403mln manat (9%).
