Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Babayeva / The State Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Patent of Azerbaijan has prepared the list of commodities subject to compulsory certification. The Director General of the agency, Ramiz Hasanov, said on 6 April that reconsidering the list resulted from economic growth of Azerbaijan. The recent list had been confirmed by the Government of Azerbaijan in 1993.
The new list excludes several types of previously included commodities. Generally the list consists of more than 100 commodities, including products that may adversely affect consumers' health, including foodstuffs, perfumes, make-up and electronic devices. The document will be submitted to the government for reconsideration at the end of April.
