Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 9 / Trend E. Ismailov /
SOCAR intensified the activity to build gas facilities on the base of the Kulevi oil terminal within the project of transporting chemical products through the terminal, a source in SOCAR Energy Georgia told Trend on Friday.
He said that the construction of new facilities is planned to be completed by the end of January next year.
"The construction operations are carried out rapidly to complete them by late January," a source said. These buildings are essential to transport chemical products, in particular propylene.
SOCAR's another source earlier said that the development of the project of transporting Azerkimya's products through Kulevi oil terminal is under completion.
The terminal was put into operation in summer 2008. Its total capacity is 10 million tons of oil per year, including 3 million tons of oil, 3 million tons of diesel fuel, and 4 million tons of fuel oil.
The terminal can accommodate up to 168 tank cars. The tank farm's total volume is 320,000 cubic meters with the possibility of increasing to 380,000 cubic meters. The port has two berths to load petroleum products in tankers of up to 100,000 tons.
