Ninety thousand subscribers in Azerbaijan provided with gas

More than $300 million manat were told to improve the gas supply to the population in Azerbaijan in 2011, Prime Minister Artur Rasizade said at a plenary session of the Azerbaijani Parliament, which discusses the government's report on the results of 2011.

More than $300 million manat were told to improve the gas supply to the population in Azerbaijan in 2011, Prime Minister Artur Rasizade said at a plenary session of the Azerbaijani Parliament, which discusses the government's report on the results of 2011.

Rasizade noted that the gasification of 120 residential areas allow to supply gas to 90 thousand new subscribers. "Significant work to implement the strategy of the oil and energy
security of the country was carried out in 2011. Rich hydrocarbon reserves have been found in the result of exploration work in the fields of Umid and Absheron," Rasizade said.

He noted that, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) expanded international operations and invested in several countries, entering to the foreign oil and gas markets, in 2011.

"Very important steps have been taken to deliver the Azerbaijani gas to world markets," Rasizade said.
