Baku’s energy operator ups electricity purchase

Bakielektrikshebeke which deals in the sales and distribution of electricity in Baku bought about 2.6 billion kilowatt / hours of electricity from Azerenergy which produced and distributed electricity in the Azerbaijani regions, in January-March compared to 2.35 billion kilowatt / hours in January and March 2011, the company said today.

According to the report, Bakielektrikshebeke purchased 842 million kilowatt / hours of electricity in March compared to 794.4 million kilowatt / hours in March 2011. The company bought approximately 8.21 billion kilowatt / hours of electricity from Azerenergy in 2011 compared to approximately 7.92 billion kilowatt / hours in 2010.

The amount to be paid by Bakielektrikshebeke for electricity obtained from Azerenergy hit 89.43 per cent in January-March compared to 83.6 per cent in January-March last year.

Payments for electricity delivered in 2011 amounted to an average of 92.2 per cent compared to 96.2 per cent in 2010.
