SOCAR announces gas volumes supplied to Georgian market

In January-March, SOCAR Energy Georgia delivered to the Georgian market over 774.42 million cubic meters of gas, a SOCAR source told Trend on Thursday.

He said of the total volume of gas delivered, some 172.52 million cubic meters of natural gas fell to the commercial and the remaining 601.9 million cubic meters - the social.

In 2011, the SOCAR Energy Georgia delivered to the Georgian market more than 1.7 billion cubic meters of gas. Of the total volume of gas delivered to the Georgian market, about 564.05 million cubic meters fell to the commercial, and more than 1.15 billion cubic meters - social gas, the report said.

In November 2008, Azerbaijan and Georgia signed an agreement that creates an opportunity to activate SOCAR activities on the Georgian gas market over the next five years, beginning in 2009. Under a contract, SOCAR in order to implement the project created subsidiary SOCAR Georgia Gas, which provides gas consumers groups defined by the Georgian government.

SOCAR and the Georgian government signed an agreement at the end of December 2008 on the transfer of 30 gas distribution farms and distribution networks control covering different regions of Georgia.
