Kazakh National Oil and Gas Company KazMunaiGas starts the project on restructuring social responsibility and sustainable development management processes, the company reported on Friday.
"The project is aimed at introduction of centralized integrated management system based on modern international standards," the company said.
Within the project, an integrated system of centralized control over social responsibility and sustainable development management will be created in KazMunaiGas, international standards in social responsibility and sustainable development management will be introduced, non-financial reporting, audit, training of personnel will be carried in accordance with international standards.
"We believe, consistent implementation of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility principles makes more efficient daily business practices, promotes open and understandable interactions with stakeholders, provides transparency to shareholders and investors," KazMunaiGas Chairman of the Board Lyazzat Kiinov said.
KazMunaiGas is Kazakhstan's national operator for hydrocarbon exploration, production, processing and transportation. Kazakh Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna is the only shareholder of the company.
