The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has produced 6.21 million tons of oil from the country's offshore and onshore fields from Jan.-Sept 2015, or 1.5 percent less compared to the same period in 2014 (6.3 million tons), said the message from SOCAR.
Jointly with foreign investors, SOCAR develops the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of oil and gas fields and Shah Deniz gas and condensate field.
In total, SOCAR has produced over 8.32 million tons of oil in 2014, compared to 8.31 million tons in 2013.
SOCAR said that in total, 31.39 million tons of oil was produced in Azerbaijan from Jan.-Sept. 2015, or 2.5 percent less compared to the same period in 2014 (32.18 million tons).
Over 42.4 million tons of oil was produced in Azerbaijan in 2014, compared to 43.5 million tons in 2013.
SOCAR is the sole producer of oil products in Azerbaijan. It has two oil refineries and filling stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania and Switzerland.
The company includes production associations Azneft (the enterprises producing oil and gas onshore and offshore), Azerkimya (the chemical industry enterprises) and Azerigaz.
SOCAR also has a number of processing enterprises, service enterprises, and institutions involved in geophysical and drilling operations.
