Production of Pars Petrochemical Company increases in Iran

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 5

Pars Petrochemical Company has set a world record by producing monomer-styrene products for 470 days in the Pars Energy Special Economic Zone of Bushehr province in southern Iran, reads the statement by Pars Petrochemical Company, Trend reports citing the company’s official website.

According to the report, Pars monometer-styrene production was 100 percent. However, according to world statistics, the share of this product in the petrochemical sector in the world is about 83 percent, and in the US it is about 78 percent.

The company produced 4.25 million tons of products in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).

As many as 1.47 million tons of ethane, 814,000 tons of propane, 526,000 tons of butane, 105,000 tons of gasoline, 681,000 tons of ethyl benzene, 631,000 tons of monomer-styrene and 20,200 tons of benzene toluene were produced in the last Iranian year.

More than 200,000 tons of products were damaged as a result of a number of natural disasters, including damage to pipes last year. The Pars Petrochemical Company achieved this production under direct US sanctions.

The US imposed new sanctions on Iran in November 2018. Over the past period, the sanctions affected Iranian oil exports, more than 700 banks, companies and individuals.
