Uzbekneftegaz notes progress of pre-commissioning work at 'Uzbekistan GTL' plant

More than 600 units of special equipment is being used for construction and installation work at the 'Uzbekistan GLT' plant in Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to Uzbekneftegaz JSC.

The plant currently employs 9,300 people.

The Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Olimkhon Rustamov, accompanied by the Chairman of the Management Board of Uzbekneftegaz Mehriddin Abdullayev visited the construction site at the plant, in order to get acquainted with the ongoing work.

Uzbekneftegaz said that to date the main part of construction and installation work is being completed at the plant, and commissioning is being carried out in stages.

Also, the general contractors of the project - the South Korean consortium Hyundai Engineering, Hyundai Engineering & Construction and Enter Engineering (Singapore) are actively working on the commissioning of equipment at the plant.

The main substation was put into operation at the plant and the supply of power to the plant began. Also, the commissioning work was completed in the control room building of instrumentation and automation No.2. For the first time a fire-fighting water unit No. 82 was put into operation at the plant.

During the acquaintance with the implementation of the project, the state of commissioning of the raw water treatment plant, that is, the system for the production of demineralized water was studied.

Moreover, a compressed air production unit for the central control panel, instrumentation and automation system of the enterprise, as well as a number of other devices were examined.

Commissioning of the Uzbekistan GTL plant in full is scheduled for this year. The plant will produce 93,000 tons of aviation kerosene, 220,000 tons of diesel fuel, 133,000 tons of naphtha and 16,000 tons of liquefied gas.
