By Klavdiya Romakayeva - Trend:

Natural Gas-Stream JV LLC, created by Uzbekneftegaz and Russian Gas Project Development Central Asia, has completed drilling of the first prospecting well at the Akchalak investment block, Trend reports referring to Uzbekneftegaz JSC.

According to Uzbekneftegaz, Natural Gas-Stream JV LLC is implementing an investment project "Exploration work at the investment blocks Sechankul, Akdzhar, and Chimbay, as well as the development of the Urga, Akchalak, and Chandir group fields" with a total value of $701.4 million.

To date, 27 wells have been drilled, 42 wells have been equipped, 24 wells have been overhauled, 3D CDP field seismic surveys have been carried out on an area of 600 square kilometers, including 40 square kilometers of seismic on the water surface of Sechankul Lake.

In addition, 55.4 kilometers of gas pipelines and loops were built in the Akchalak group and a shift camp was built in the Chandyr group and the Urga field.

It is reported that the expected annual production of natural gas will amount to 1.2 billion cubic meters and 32,200 tons of gas condensate until the end of 2021.

Uzbekneftegaz notes that currently, work has been completed on drilling the first prospecting well at the Akchalak investment block (Zhalymbet area). Well, testing is underway, which is expected to be completed at the end of March.

Also, to date, well No. 3 of the Chandyr field in the Bukhara region has been overhauled. After the well was completed at a depth of 2,083 – 2,123 meters, and industrial flow of gas with condensate was obtained. The well was completed and connected to a gas-collecting manifold. The daily flow rate of the well amounts to 76,100 cubic meters.

Furthermore, in order to increase natural gas production by the Natural Gas-Stream JV for 2021, a practical action plan has been developed that provides for the drilling of one well and sidetracks in four wells, overhaul, and stimulation of inflow in 13 wells, the implementation of which will increase the daily production of natural gas from three million cubic meters to 3.3 million cubic meters.

Natural Gas-Stream was established at the end of 2016 to conduct exploration and development of gas fields in the Ustyurt region. On the Uzbek side, in addition to Uzbekneftegaz, the joint venture is co-founded by Mubarekneftegaz and Ustyurtgaz. On the part of the partners, in addition to Russian Gas Project Development Central Asia, which is part of Gazprom's structure and is registered in Switzerland, the venture is co-founded by Altmax Holding, registered in Cyprus.
