SOCAR Ukraine bidding for Odessa Port Plant’s tender

Ukrainian subsidiary of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR is taking part in the gas supply tender announced by Odessa Port Plant (OPP), Trend reports citing OPP.

OPP launched an auction on Apr.19 to select a supplier and shipper of give-and-take raw materials. The tender participants are Naftogaz Trading LLC, AgroGazTrading LLC, SOCAR Ukraine, NIKA-Agrotrade LLC and others.

The cost of processing the give-and-take raw materials into ammonia and services for its shipment is $42 per ton of finished products (excluding VAT) and $61 per ton (excluding VAT) for carbamide. The services shall be provided for the period of two years.

OPP could not sum up the results of the auction on April 20 to determine the winner due to a court decision on the suit of United Energy LLC.

Odessa Port Plant received a ruling from the Economic Court of the Odessa Region, which prohibits OPP to take any actions for selection of the supplier.

The principal purpose of the enterprise is production of ammonia, urea and of some other chemical by-products. The Plant also does the transshipping of products made by other enterprises, such as: ammonia, urea, methanol, and UAN They come to OPP transshipment terminals by railway or through a 2471 km long.

The Plant products are in demand on the domestic market, but they are mostly exported - about 85 percent are shipped to more than 30 countries around the world.
