SOCAR among major suppliers of gasoline from Lithuania to Ukraine

Ukrainian subsidiary of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR was among the main suppliers of motor gasoline from Lithuania to Ukraine in 2021, Trend reports referring to Ukrainian media.

Reportedly, supplies from Lithuania increased by 10 percent in 2021, as compared to 2020 and stood at 262,000 tons, holding 21 percent share in Ukraine’s gasoline imports. The main suppliers were WOG, OKKO and SOCAR Energy Ukraine, which imported 69,000 tons, 51,000 tons and 45,000 tons, respectively.

Gasoline imports to Ukraine amounted to 1.28 million tons in 2021, or 16.5 percent more than 1.099 million tons in 2020.

SOCAR’s representative office opened in Ukraine in 2008. The company acquired about 20 Tala-Nafta filling stations in Odessa and Nikolaev regions. as well as Svitanok large oil depot in Odessa region in 2009.

The company took control of the fuelling networks ONIO (four filling stations in Kyiv and the region) and GFC (in Lviv region) in 2010-2011. SOCAR received permission from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to purchase 26 filling stations and one tank farm of the Kalina group in August 2012.
