BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 13. The State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan has revealed price changes in food products in April, Trend reports.
According to the committee's data, in April this year, prices decreased for various food items such as semolina, buckwheat, pasta, fresh fish, milk, eggs, margarine, oils, nuts, tomatoes, cucumbers, greens, eggplants, and potatoes.
Conversely, price growth was mainly observed for lemons, bananas, apples, pears, kiwi, chestnuts, cabbage, sweet pepper, beets, and garlic. Prices for other food products remained relatively stable.
In April 2024, the consumer price index reached 100 percent compared to April 2023. This includes 98.2 percent for food, beverages, and tobacco, 100.9 percent for non-food products, and 102 percent for services. The consumer price index in April 2024 slightly decreased to 99.9 percent compared to the previous month and stood at 100.7 percent from January through April compared to the same period the previous year.
