Iran to launch new power facilities in several provinces

In general, 141 power facilities at a cost of 231 trillion rials (about $5.5 billion) will be launched in Iran on anniversary of the Iranian Revolution (February 1 through February 11, 2022), Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

According to the report, four thermal power plants with the total capacity to generate 807 megawatt-hours of electricity will be launched in Iran's East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Fars and Hormozgan provinces of Iran at a cost of about 160 trillion rials (about $3.8 billion).

In addition, 126 substations and small-scale power plants and power lines will be launched in Isfahan, Ardabil, Razavi Khorasan, Hormozgan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Kurdistan, Mazandaran, Bushehr, Tehran, Semnan, Kermanshah, Golestan, Yazd, Alborz, Ilam, South Khorasan, Markazi and Qom provinces. A total of 61.6 trillion rials (about $1.46 billion) has been spent in this regard.

At the same time, 11 renewable energy power plants with the total capacity to generate 35.2 megawatt-hours of electricity will be launched in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan, Yazd, Mazandaran, Fars, Isfahan, Tehran, Razavi Khorasan and Kerman provinces. In total, 9.95 trillion rials (about $237 million) was has been spent in this regard.
