BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 1. The Shahid Soleimani Thermal Power Plant in Kerman Province (south-eastern Iran) generated 1.78 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21 22, 2022), Managing Director of Kerman Power Generation Management Company Hossein Bahrololoom said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

According to Bahrololoom, this is an increase of 25,000 kilowatt-hours compared to same period last Iranian year.

“Meanwhile, in the same period of the preceding Iranian year, the figure stood at 1.75 billion kilowatt-hours,” he added.

The director also pointed out that the Shahid Soleimani TPP generated more than 866 million kilowatt-hours of electricity for the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2022).

Bahrololoom noted that about 33 percent of the total electricity was generated by steam units, while 67 percent by gas units.

Iran's Shahid Soleimani TPP has eight gas units, each generating 159 megawatt-hours of electricity, and four steam units, each generating 160 megawatt-hours of electricity. In general, the power plant has capacity to generate about 2,000 megawatt-hours of electricity.
