SOCAR plans to build new platform on large off-shore field

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to build a new platform on the “Oily Rocks” (Neft Dashlari) oil field, which is one of the largest in the oil production, SOCAR told Trend.

According to the SOCAR spokesman, the в"- 2387 platform designing is currently underway. В"Preparatory works for the platform construction on the site of the Heydar Aliyev Deep Water Jackets Plant by the order of the Neft Dashlari Oil and Gas Producing Units (OGPU) have started. The platform’s capacity will be defined after completion of the design works”, he noted.

The в"- 2387 platform is supposed to consist of 2 blocks, it will enable to drill up to 10 wells. Use of other platforms remains being on the plant’s site are planned for the building of the platform.

The company’s spokesman noted, the location of the new platform has been defined. В"It will be installed in the centre of the Neft Dashlari oil field, close to the new one, в"- 1887. The water level here is 25 metersВ", - the SOCAR’s spokesman said.
