In 1st quarter SOCAR extracts about 1bn cu m of gas

In the first quarter of 2006 oil and gas production units (OGPU) of the SOCAR produced 947,710,000 cu m or 0.7% less as compared 2005, the Company told Trend. The largest amount of gas was produced by 28 May OGPU, developing the Guneshli field. Over January to March the figure made up 601,827,000 tons of oil, or 4% more as compared 2005.

The least oil and gas production was observed on the Muradkhanly field. In January the figure comprised 150,000 cu m of gas.

The largest production lag was registered at the Balakhanineft OGPU, which produced 2,379,000 cu m of gasl, or 61.8% less as compared 2005. The efforts of SOCAR were focused on keeping of the existing production amount.
