Azerbaijan Imported 54.1 Less of Electric Power than in 1st Quarter of 2007

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend / "Azerenerji" JSC has generated over 6.6 bln. KWatt per hour of electric energy in the first quarter of 2007, a source in the Joint-Stock Company stated. Notably, in the first quarter of 2006, "Azerenerji" generated about 7 bln. KWatt per hour of electric energy.

Six bln. KWatt per hour of electric energy out of the total 6.6 bln. KWatt per hour, generated in the reporting period was from heat power plants operating in the country, with the balance 0.6 bln. KWatt per hour from hydroelectric power stations. During the first quarter of 2007, the electric power exchange with other countries took place. On the whole, the country received 259.1 mln. KWatt per hour of electric energy. This figure is 54.1 less than the same period last year. During the reporting period, Azerbaijan received 97.3 mln. KWatt per hour from Russia, 123.2 mln. KWatt per hour from Iran, 14.9 mln. KWatt per hour from Turkey, and 23.6 mln. KWatt per hour of electricity from Georgia.
