Total turnover at market of Baku Stock Exchange increases by 4%

The total turnover at the market of Azerbaijan’s Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) amounted to 1.34 billion manats in August 2019, which is almost two times less than the same month last year, Trend reports referring to the BSE’s reporting data.
According to the exchange, the volume of turnover grew by 4.2 percent during the month.
The turnover in the debt instrument market amounted to 1.287 billion manats during the said period, having increased by 3.7 percent since the beginning of the year. Nevertheless, on an annualized basis, the volume of turnover significantly decreased by 11.6 percent.
The turnover on the stock market amounted to only 239,100 manats in August 2019, while in August 2018 it stood at 39.262 million manats, many times higher than the current figure.
Since the beginning of the year, the turnover on repo operations has almost doubled and amounted to 52.77 million manats in August. On an annualized basis, the growth in repurchase transactions amounted to about 80 percent.
