Aggregate assets of Azerbaijan's Bank VTB down

The total assets of Azerbaijan’s Bank VTB in the first quarter of 2021 decreased by 7.6 percent compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports citing the bank's balance sheet.

In accordance with the report, total assets decreased for the year by 27.6 million manat ($16.2 million) to 336.7 million manat ($198.05 million).

The biggest share (62.6 percent) in the structure of assets accounted for the loan portfolio in the amount of 210.7 million manat ($123.9 million), decreasing by 4.1 percent for the year.

Fixed assets and intangible assets accounted for about 20.5 percent in the structure of total assets, which increased by 2.6 percent, amounting to 69.1 million manat ($40.6 million).

The volume of deposits in other banks and financial institutions decreased by 61.8 percent, amounting to 9.7 million manat ($5.7 million).

During the reporting period, Bank VTB issued the loans to financial institutions in the amount of 15.3 million manat ($9 million), which is by 42 percent less on an annual basis.

Over three percent in the structure of assets accounted for the correspondent accounts in the amount of 10.6 million manat ($6.2 million), an increase of 53.9 percent in annual terms.

More than 2.9 percent accounted for cash and cash equivalents. The volume decreased in annual circulation by 2.8 percent to 9.8 million manat ($5.8 million).

Investments in securities, remaining unchanged for the year, are estimated at one million manat ($588,235).

Other assets of Bank VTB in the first quarter of 2021 amounted to 3.9 million manat ($2.3 million), decreasing by 18.2 percent compared to the first quarter of last year.
