Lending to public organizations drops in Azerbaijan

The volume of loans issued to public organizations by early May 2021 amounted to 17.3 million manat ($10.1 million), which is 21.4 percent or 4.7 million manat ($2.76 million) less compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the statistics of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the CBA, the share of lending to this sector in lending to the real sector amounted to 0.1 percent, having unchanged compared to the beginning of May 2020.

Total lending to the real sector of the Azerbaijani economy in the first four months of 2021 approached 15 billion manat, which is 159.3 million manat ($93.7 million) or 1.1 percent less compared to the same period of 2020.

The largest share of loans in Azerbaijan by early May of this year fell on households, amounting to 47 percent, or 7.04 billion manat ($4.14 billion) of the total lending to the real sector.
