The amount of loans issued by Iranian banks in various economic sectors increased by 55.5 percent during the first four months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through July 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the statistics of Central bank Of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, Iranian banks issued loans worth about 7.01 quadrillion rials (about $167 billion) in various economic sectors in the 4 months. While in the same period Iranian year, that figure amounted to 2.5 quadrillion rials (about $59.5 billion).

"So, the banks issued 466 trillion rials (about $11 billion) worth of loans in the agricultural sector in the mentioned period," the statistics said.

Moreover, the banks issued loans worth 2.15 quadrillion rials (about $51.3 billion) in Iran's industrial and mining sectors over the four months.

According to the statistics, the banks also issued loans worth 327 trillion rials (about $7.78 billion) in Iran's housing and construction sector during the reporting period.

Furthermore, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 1.16 quadrillion rials (about $27.5 billion) in the trade sector in the four months.

At the same time, 2.9 quadrillion rials (about $69.1 billion) worth of loans were issued in the services sector and 1.93 trillion rials (about $46 million) in other unmentioned areas over the first 4 months of the current Iranian year, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, the loans are provided for the establishment of enterprises and facilities, as working capital, repair work, development, purchase of personal assets, purchase of apartments, and so on.
