Iran’s CBI announces amount of loans issued in agricultural sector

Iranian banks issued loans worth 466 trillion rials (about $11 billion) in the agricultural sector of the country, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through July 22, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, about 79.3 trillion rials (about $1.88 billion) worth of loans were issued for the establishment of enterprises and the planting of gardens, and arable lands in the agricultural sector.

In addition, 337 trillion rials (about $8.03 billion) worth of loans were issued as working capital in the agricultural sector.

"The loans worth 2.14 trillion rials (about $50.9 million) were issued for repair work in the agricultural sector of Iran within the four months," the statistics said.

According to the statistics, at the same time, 30 trillion rials (about $714 million) worth of loans were issued for the development of Iran's agricultural sector.

Moreover, 3.83 trillion rials (about $91.3 million) worth of loans were issued for the purchase of personal assets in the agricultural sector, 435 billion rials (about 10.3 million) for the purchase of housing, and 12.8 trillion rials (about $305 million) for other purposes.

As reported, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 7.01 quadrillion rials (about $167 billion) in various economic sectors in the first four months of the current Iranian year. This an increase of 55.5 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
