BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 19. The amount of loans issued by Bank Keshavarzi Iran in Lorestan Province in the west of the country, increased by 108 percent since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 to December 18), compared to the same period last Iranian year, said Ali Jahani Mir, head of branches of Iran's Keshavarzi Bank in Lorestan Province, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Jahani Mir said that the bank issued loans worth more than 27.6 trillion rials (about $657 million) in the Lorestan Province within the mentioned period.
The official added that about 91 percent of the loans were issued in the agriculture sector.
According to him, most loans were issued in animal husbandry, poultry and cropping. So, more than 8 trillion rials (about $190 million) were issued in animal husbandry and poultry, and more than 4 trillion rials (about $95.2 million dollars) in cropping.
Jahani Mir noted that in order to support economic development and increase production in Lorestan province, the Bank Keshavarzi Iran continues to provide loans in the province.
