BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 20. Iranian banks lent 1.3 quadrillion rials (about $31.1 billion) in the housing and construction sectors of the country in the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2023), Trend reports.
Data of Iran’s Central bank shows that the loans were allocated for various purposes in the housing and construction sectors:
- Construction work: 710 trillion rials (about $16.9 billion);
- Working capital: approximately 512 trillion rials (about $12.2 billion);
- Development work: 50.8 trillion rials (about $1.2 billion);
- Purchase of housing: 29.3 trillion rials (about $699 million);
- Purchase of personal assets: 4.51 trillion rials (about $107 million);
- Repair work: 1.35 trillion rials (about $32 million);
- Self-employment: 1.03 trillion rials (about $24.5 million).
In total, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 23.7 quadrillion rials (about $564 billion) in various economic sectors within the first 7 months of the current Iranian year.
