The Azerbaijani Education Ministry and Kaspersky Laboratory, the Russian producer of information security systems, have discussed the issue of providing the country's education sector with information security products on a preferential basis, Chief of the Ministry's Educational System Information Department Samir Mammadov told Trend.

Mammadov said the sides discussed technical aspects of this question and Kaspersky Lab has already begun to review its details. Special discounts on products can be provided to the Azerbaijani side in the near future.

"We previously used the products of this manufacturer. Today, the agenda is the expansion of cooperation. Accordingly, after the company makes specific proposals, we will, in turn, begin to consider them," he said.

Kaspersky Laboratory may offer the educational sector of Azerbaijan substantial discounts for its solutions, Kaspersky Laboratory Account Manager Konstantin Matyukhin said earlier.

Discounts to be provided may reach or even exceed 20 percent of the standard price list, he said. As a rule, such projects are implemented through the company's partnership network, and clients very often make demands concerning functional of product the company subscribes to.

"As for directly the educational sector, we pay a rather serious attention to it in many countries, including Azerbaijan," Matyukhin said.
