This week, Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) CJSC published a report on "Quality, health, labor safety and environmental protection" for the second quarter of 2020, Trend reports with reference to ASCO.

The number of working hours without loss of ability to work in all divisions of ASCO during the second quarter of 2020 amounted to 2,978,470 hours.

In addition, the volume of freight and passenger traffic in Azerbaijan became known this week. According to the data, the volume of passenger traffic by all types of transport in Azerbaijan from January through September 2020 amounted to 931.7 million people, which is 37.2 percent less than the same indicator of last year.

The volume of passengers transported by rail during the same period last year decreased by 34.5 percent, amounting to 1.67 million people, by sea transport - 17,100 people (8.2 percent less), by air - 522,400 people (75.2 percent less), by metro - 69.6 million people (59 percent less).

The volume of sea export cargo transportation of Azerbaijan for 9M2020 amounted to 213,685 tons. This figure is 12.9 percent less than the figure for the same period last year. Export cargo transportation by sea was carried out in the amount of $68.29 million (a decrease of 38.8 percent).

According to the State Customs Committee, in total, Azerbaijan carried out sea cargo transportation in the amount of $398.78 million, which is 83.5 percent less than in 2019.

The volume of export cargo transportation by road for 9M2020 amounted to 980,236 tons. This figure is 1.1 percent less than the figure for the same period last year. Export cargo transportation by road was carried out in the amount of $866.204 million (a decrease of 0.02 percent).

The volume of cargo transshipment through the seaports of Azerbaijan from January through September 2020 amounted to 6.54 million tons, which is 7.8 percent more compared to the same period last year.
