This week there was a decrease in Azerbaijan's income from passenger transportation along the Azerbaijani section of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) corridor, which amounted to 60 percent compared to the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to the report published by the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan's revenues from the transportation of passengers through the Azerbaijani section of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) corridor from January through September 2020 amounted to 43.59 million manats ($25.7 million).

A significant increase was recorded in the transshipment of dry cargo through the Baku International Sea Trade Port for 10M2020, amounting up to 505,800 tons.

According to the data of the report of the Baku International Sea Trade Port published this week, the volume of transshipment of dry cargo increased by 3.8 times compared to the same period last year.

The total volume of container transshipment through the Baku International Sea Trade Port for the first nine months of this year exceeded 30,210 containers in TEU equivalent.

The total volume of cargo transshipment through the Baku International Sea Trade Port in the first nine months of this year amounted to over 3.5 million tons.

The transshipment of containers between the port of Aktau (Kazakhstan) and the port of Alat (Azerbaijan) within the framework of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TCITR) for 9M2020 has almost tripled, the Aktau port reported.

At the same time, the transshipment of containers along the TMTM route amounted to 9,769 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent) in the reporting period compared to 3,378 TEU for the same period last year.

The volume of freight traffic in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (AR) for 10M2020 amounted to 13,632,100 tons, according to the report of the State Committee on Statistics of the Nakhchivan AR, decreasing by 1.4 percent compared to the indicators of the same period last year.

The average daily volume of cargo handled at the Astara terminal in Iran by ADY Express from January through October 2020 amounted to 1,414,000 tons, said the head of the press service of ADY Express LLC Ilham Abdulov.

He said that the growth compared to the same period last year amounted to 5.6 percent.
