Kuwait airline interested in operating direct flights to Uzbekistan

Kuwait Jazeera Airways expressed interest to operate direct flights to Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development.

The mentioned issue was discussed by the Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov, and a delegation of the Kuwaiti airline Jazeera Airways headed by the Vice President Ravindran Bharatkhan.

The parties discussed issues of launching direct flights from Kuwait to the cities of Uzbekistan, increasing the flow of Kuwaiti tourists to the country, and developing cooperation in the field of tourism.

Thus, the Kuwaiti delegation expressed interest in opening a new regular air route to Kuwait - Tashkent from March 2021, as well as in opening other tourist centers of Uzbekistan.

The leadership of the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development assured the Kuwaiti delegation of full support for Jazeera Airways' initiatives to expand the geography of flights to Uzbekistan, as well as assistance in obtaining permission to operate flights as soon as possible.

Jazeera Airways is one of the largest airlines in Kuwait, with scheduled flights to over 35 cities in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia and a fleet of the latest A-320 aircraft.

It is reported that Jazeera Airways has become the second airline in two weeks to become interested in Uzbekistan after privileges for ground handling of aircraft were introduced at the country's airports.

Earlier, Pegasus Airlines announced that they can connect Uzbekistan with countries of pilgrimage tourism.
