Iran’s PMO discloses details of cargo movements in Abadan port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 5

A total of 2,740 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Abadan port of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

So, 888 tons of cargo were loaded and 1,850 tons were unloaded in the port during the second month. This is an increase of 80 percent in terms of volume, compared to the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021).

“About 888 tons of cargo were exported and 1,220 tons were imported through the Abadan port over the reporting month,” the statistics said.

Within the second month, 629 tons of cargo were unloaded in this port for transit, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 948 tons of essential products, 1,790 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Abadan port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year.

As reported, about 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the second month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 7.12 million tons were loaded and 5.47 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 17.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
