Flights from Iran’s Abadan International Airport increasing

The number of flights (passenger planes only) from the Abadan International Airport in the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) increased by 205 percent, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.

In total, 2,488 flights were carried out through the airport in 7 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 2,082.

According to the statistics, a total of 168,316 passengers were transported through the Abadan International Airport over seven months. Passenger transportation increased by 4 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. The figure amounted to 161,835 in the same period last Iranian year.

"Furthermore, 1,728 tons of cargo were transported via the airport for the reporting period. Cargo transportation increased by 18 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So that 1,461 tons of cargo had been transported in the same period last Iranian year," the statistics said.

As reported, Iran's Abadan International Airport is located on 383 hectares of land.
