ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 18. The leadership of Turkmenistan's 'Turkmendenizderyayollary' Agency held talks with representatives of the Dutch Damen Shipyards Gorinchem shipbuilding company, Trend reports.
During the negotiations, Turkmenistan's agency expressed interest in cooperation in the construction of dredging vessels at the Balkan shipbuilding and ship repair yard, in connection with which it requested a commercial offer and information on equipment for the construction of this type of vessel.
Furthermore, it was noted that the localization of production may be more economically advantageous than the import of finished vessels.
At the same time, during the negotiations, the possibility of modernizing the 'Deryaellary' shipyard in the Lebap region for the development of shipbuilding in Turkmenistan was discussed.
In general, the meeting showed the interest of both sides in cooperation and development of the shipbuilding industry of Turkmenistan with the involvement of advanced international experience.
Meanwhile, Damen Shipyards Gorinchem B.V. is the parent company of the Damen Shipyards Group, which was founded in 1927 and specializes in modular shipbuilding based on standardized designs that reduce the time and costs of ship production and maintenance.
