ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 16. The 'Marine Merchant Fleet' CJSC of Turkmenistan has dispatched its Bagtyyar Ro-Pax type ferry on its inaugural voyage this year from the Turkmenbashi International Seaport to the Russian port of Olya, Trend reports.
According to the Turkmendenizderyayollary Agency (Turkmen State Service of Maritime and River Transportation), there are 40 units of trucks with a trailer filled with food on board this ferry.
This shipment marks an important step in strengthening trade relations between Turkmenistan and Russia and also demonstrates the capabilities of the national maritime carrier for the timely delivery of perishable goods.
Moreover, ferry services offer the advantage of reducing cargo delivery time and saving costs compared to other modes of transportation.
The Bagtyyar ferry is equipped with all safety and navigation systems, which guarantees the safety of cargo along the entire route.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan, seeking to strengthen its role as a transit hub in the Central Asian region, is actively developing cargo transportation, especially through ferry service along the Caspian Sea.
This strategically important area is supported through the constant modernization of port infrastructure, expansion of the fleet, and improvement of logistics systems, and initiatives of this kind contribute not only to increasing the volume of trade and economic growth of the country but also to strengthening its position in international trade relations.
